Adjunct Instructor
Position Summary:
Florida Coastal University is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Instructors to join our dynamic team. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will deliver high-quality instruction in your field of expertise to our diverse student body. Key Responsibilities:
Course Delivery
• Teach assigned courses as outlined in the academic schedule and course syllabus, adhering to the curriculum guidelines and accreditation standards.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities, to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
• Prepare and deliver course content, assignments, and assessments that align with course objectives and learning outcomes.
Student Engagement:
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments and assessments, guiding them toward academic improvement.
• Be available for student consultation outside of class hours through scheduled office hours, email, or other communication channels.
Course Management:
• Develop and maintain a detailed course syllabus that clearly communicates course objectives, learning outcomes, teaching methods, required materials, assignments, evaluation criteria, and classroom policies.
• Use the university’s learning management system (LMS) to post course materials, assignments, grades, and communicate with students.
Assessment and Evaluation:
• Evaluate student performance based on the established course objectives and learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Encourage students to complete course evaluations and use the feedback to improve teaching methods and course content.
Professional Development:
• Stay current with developments in your field of expertise and in teaching practices.
• Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities as required.
• Continuously improve instructional skills and update course content to reflect current trends and knowledge in the subject area.
Compliance and Reporting:
• Adhere to all university policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements.
• Submit required documentation, such as grade reports and attendance records, in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Education:
• A Master’s degree in the relevant field is required; a Doctorate degree is preferred.
• Relevant teaching experience at the university or college level is highly desirable.
Subject Matter Expertise:
• Deep knowledge and understanding of the subject matter to be taught.
• Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
Teaching Skills:
• Proven ability to deliver course content using a variety of teaching methodologies.
• Commitment to employing innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
Communication Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Note: This position is part-time and may involve teaching evening or weekend classes. Employment offers are contingent upon legal authorization to work in the country and satisfactory completion of a background check, among other criteria.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $26.00 – $46.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 20 per week
