What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, including statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and statistical inference
• Build forecasting and continuous learning models for optimizing smart energy devices in demand response programs
• Code robust models using Python to address client challenges and develop internal tools
• Collaborate with data engineering and visualization teams for delivering client projects
• Develop cloud-based tools and processes to scale data analysis
What Is Required (Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, management information systems, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a data science role (master’s degree can substitute for experience)
• Proficiency in open-source data science languages, particularly Python
• Familiarity with Python data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
• Master’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, management information systems, or a related field
• A portfolio of Data Science/ML projects available for review
• Knowledge of geospatial data processing and experience with GIS software (e.g., QGIS) and libraries (e.g., geopandas)
• Experience with Azure, especially Azure Databricks for data processing and machine learning
• Experience writing complex SQL queries and using git
