What You Will Do:
Ensuring that each customer receives prompt and courteous service every time they shop, while attending to their needs and answering their questions:
• Greeting customers with warmth and professionalism while attending to their home renovation needs at Lowe’s.
• Ensuring that the loading of tickets is validated and that orders and deliveries are processed accurately is crucial in guaranteeing timely and satisfactory receipt of merchandise by customers.
• Ensuring that all work is done safely and promoting this culture in the workplace is crucial for the prevention of accidents.
Responsibilities:
The Lowe’s Building Materials Sales Associate plays an essential role in shaping customers’ experiences with the brand. Their duties range from assisting customers with product selection to ensuring that pricing is accurate, and all of their needs are met. This includes utilizing their expertise to provide accurate quotes and going above and beyond to load customers’ merchandise.
The duties of a Building Materials Sales Associate differ depending on the department they are assigned to. These departments include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls. Applicants for the position of Customer Service Associate are considered for any of these areas based on hiring requirements and their relevant expertise.
Travel Requirements:
This position does not necessitate frequent traveling; however, it may require occasional journeys to attend meetings, trainings, or provide support to nearby stores.
Our focus: The core of our business revolves around delivering quality products and services to our customers at competitive prices while maintaining the highest standards of customer service:
• Full Time or Part Time by the Hour: Typically, 39 to 40 scheduled hours for full-time, and up to 25 hours for part-time; additional hours may be necessary depending on store requirements.
• Must be able to work during the morning, afternoon, and evening on any day of the week.
• Capability to carry out work-related tasks that may demand extended periods of standing, sitting, and other physical activities.
• Greeter department CSAs (in eligible stores) are expected to lift at least 10 pounds on their own, with the option to lift more than 10 pounds either with or without help.
• Employees assigned to departments other than Greeter departments must possess the ability to lift at least 25 pounds independently as a minimum requirement. They may also lift more than 25 pounds with or without assistance.
Success requires a combination of hard work, determination, and perseverance. It doesn’t just happen overnight:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Six months of familiarity with computer operations, such as entering, retrieving, manipulating, or presenting data.
• Familiarity with commonly used technological tools in retail settings, including smartphones and tablets, gained during a half-year of work experience.
• Meeting legal mandates, a candidate must be able to fulfill the requirements for obtaining any sales-specific licensure or registration.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Over a period of 6 months, I have honed my sales skills by effectively identifying and recommending products based on the customer’s unique needs. This includes suggesting credit cards, installations, and add-ons while highlighting their features and benefits in a way that’s easily understandable for the customer.
• With half a year of experience in retail, I have been able to hone my skills in delivering excellent customer service by resolving inquiries, guiding customers to find products, greeting them warmly, taking phone calls, establishing positive connections, and expressing appreciation for their patronage.
• The store values employees that have the ability to speak more than one language, if it is relevant to the store.
• Trade-related certification in hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials is widely sought after by individuals looking to advance their careers in these fields.
