About the position
The Contract Management Consultant at Verizon is responsible for the development and management of contractual documents, ensuring compliance with legal and commercial terms. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including Sourcing Specialists, Suppliers, and internal departments, to negotiate contracts and resolve issues. The consultant will also oversee contract compliance and manage supplier disputes, contributing to the overall efficiency of Verizon’s Supply Chain Services team.
Responsibilities
• Review Supplier requests for changes to contract terms and conditions, assess risks, and recommend responses.

• Ensure compliance of contract documents with Verizon’s established format.

• Act as a liaison between Sourcing Specialists, Business Partners, Legal, and Suppliers.

• Negotiate contract issue resolutions with Suppliers in coordination with Verizon Legal support.

• Prepare contract document templates for Request for Proposals (RFPs) in collaboration with Sourcing Specialists.
,
• Resolve contractual issues and respond to Supplier inquiries.
,
• Manage high-volume end-of-year and end-of-quarter renewals using agreed-upon templates.

• Meet with Legal counsel to clarify and negotiate contractual issues with Suppliers.

• Interpret contractual rights and obligations for business partners and Sourcing Specialists.

• Ensure inclusion of current Verizon standard language in all contracts and manage supplier dispute resolutions.
Requirements
• A LLB, BCL, or equivalent degree.
,
• Experience in telecom network or IT.
,
• Experience in contract management or sourcing positions.
,
• Experience in negotiating and managing agreements.
,
• Proficient issue resolution and negotiation skills.
,
• Project management experience.
,
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables in a dynamic environment.
,
• Understanding of procurement contract clauses and principles.
,
• Understanding of procurement contract risks and mitigation strategies.
,
• Proficient in contract drafting skills, particularly in Statement of Work (SOW).
Nice-to-haves
• Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) certification.

• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification.

• Certifications from the National Contract Management Association, such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM).

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

• Lean Six Sigma experience and/or certification.
