Role: Corporate Affairs Manager Reports to: Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs Location: Mississauga Flexible Commuter What you will do Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will build and execute public relations plans with a focus on product/brand supportive and corporate reputation/community initiatives and issues management, as well as represent Corporate Affairs on country level teams. In this role, the Corporate Affairs Manager will: Develop and execute strategic public relations and social media plans and programs to support corporate and brand strategies Support marketing strategies with strategic public relations and social media for new and established products Execute public relations campaigns including content development, media relations, press release and supporting material creation and distribution, event coordination and related activities Research, write and edit content suitable for multiple formats Oversee budget activity from relevant corporate affairs project budgets Oversee PR activity to ensure adherence to Amgen and Health Canada principles and guidelines of Product PR in Canada. Oversee non-financial metrics for measuring campaign successes to determine the effectiveness of communications initiatives Develop a strong relationship with all interested parties internally and become an integral member of brand, corporate affairs and relevant strategic decision-making teams What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Basic Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a 5 + years of experience in public relations with a deep understanding of the current Canadian pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology communications and publicity regulatory landscape and an established network of relationships with key agencies and media. Preferred Qualifications: Solid strategic capabilities that enable the individual to prospectively identify critical threats, opportunities and trends, to formulate insightful and effective action plans, and to make the appropriate trade-offs to balance short and long-term considerations. The ability to work effectively in a complex cross functional work environment characterized by matrixed team management and informal lines of authority. Superior verbal and written communications skills in order to effectively convey complex concepts and issues at the highest levels of partner groups and industry. Record of accomplishment in supporting product launches and corporate reputation programs in challenging circumstances and advancing important policy issues.
