Job Description
Support and enforce SQF/QA, GMP, HACCP, Safety policies and procedures, and production needs. Food Safety and Quality are the responsibilities of this position. A Quality Assurance Technician will provide assistance to the Quality Assurance Department with swabbing, coli form plating, calibrating, antibiotic testing, and various laboratory functions.
Responsibilities
Conduct daily QA audits.
Monitor ponds.
Perform micro plating, WPN, CO2, and antibiotic confirmation testing.
Check powder packaging seals.
Pull customer samples.
Clean and maintain laboratory areas.
Take care of and maintain company tools and laboratory equipment.
Update quality and procedure manuals, calibrations, wastewater reports, swabbing, and air quality monitoring.
Follow all safety and working rules.
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a quality environment.
Ensure excellent regular full-time attendance in support of company objectives.
Use initiative and judgment in decision-making, keeping the company’s best interests in mind.
Essential Skills
Experience in quality assurance and microbiology, preferably in a food plant (milk).
Compliance and sample management skills.
Minimum of an LS degree or 5 years of lab/QA experience without a degree.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in the quality department.
Proficiency in laboratory functions and procedures.
