Key Responsibilities
• Design and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the specific needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Facilitate engaging virtual instruction across various subjects, employing appropriate modifications to enhance learning outcomes.
• Conduct 60-minute American Sign Language (ASL) lessons for the teaching team as scheduled, promoting a deeper comprehension of communication methodologies.
• Establish a supportive and inclusive online classroom environment that stimulates student participation and collaboration.
• Partner with parents, caregivers, and fellow educators to aid in student development and navigate any challenges encountered.
• Remain updated on emerging trends and effective practices in Deaf education and virtual teaching.
Required Skills
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other relevant communication strategies.
• Experience with online teaching platforms and virtual education methodologies.
• Strong awareness of Deaf culture and communication practices.
• Ability to craft and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Education for Teaching Deaf Students.
• Washington State Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
• A genuine enthusiasm for working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, coupled with a dedication to fostering an inclusive educational environment.
