Job Responsibilities:
As a Paraprofessional, you will be responsible for assisting classroom teachers and supporting students with a range of needs. Your duties may include:
• Providing one-on-one or small group support to students.
• Assisting with classroom management and behavior intervention plans.
• Supporting students with special education needs.
• Helping students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, and math activities.
• Assisting with classroom activities, setup, and cleanup.
• Collaborating with teachers and staff to implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet all local and state requirements to apply. In Massachusetts, Paraprofessionals typically need to meet the following qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Paraprofessional certification or ability to obtain it.
• A strong commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
