Key Responsibilities

Student Support (Approximately 2/3 of Time):
• Assess and Evaluate: Use standardized tests to evaluate students’ skills and learning needs.
• Communication: Clearly explain evaluations to parents and regular education teachers.
• IEP Development: Create Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) in compliance with federal laws.
• Collaboration: Work with parents and school staff to monitor and support student progress.
• Family Interaction: Maintain open communication with families, responding to emails, texts, or calls within 24 hours.
• Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with students and their families.
• Virtual Meetings: Conduct virtual meetings with students to work on their IEP goals.
• Support: Provide families with suggestions to enhance learning and become familiar with homeroom resources.
• Teaching Plans: Adapt learning materials to meet students’ needs and track their progress using measurable data.
• Administration Interaction: Regularly update and communicate with school administration.
• Meeting Coordination: Schedule and manage special education meetings as required.
• Office Hours: Set up weekly office hours for student and parent consultations.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Virtual Instruction
• Class Delivery: Teach virtual classes Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM ET.
• Engagement: Use online platforms and tools to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
• Assessment: Evaluate student performance through virtual assessments, discussions, and projects.

In-Person State Testing
• Testing Support: Assist with proctoring state-mandated standardized tests and ensure adherence to testing protocols.
• Coordination: Work with administration on testing schedules, materials, and result reporting.

Administrative And Other Duties (Approximately 1/3 Of Time)
• Record-Keeping: Help with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and student evaluations.
• Participation: Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development.
• Collaboration: Work with other educators and staff to enhance educational strategies and practices.

Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Certification: Valid Indiana Special Education Teacher License.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, with experience in both virtual and in-person settings preferred.

• Proficiency with digital learning platforms and instructional technologies.
• Strong classroom management in both virtual and physical environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage various responsibilities and tasks.

Compensation
• Salary: Competitive, based on experience ($43,000).
