Job Summary:
The Warehouse Team Member’s role in organizing and loading freight plays a significant role in maintaining an efficient product flow through the distribution center to ensure timely delivery of merchandise to Dollar General stores.
Key Responsibilities:
• Efficient and safe unloading of goods from trucks, followed by proper grouping and storage according to the company’s policies, is an important task.
• Load the merchandise for delivery to Dollar General stores and make sure that the items are secured properly in the truck.
• Manage the use of warehouse machinery, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, in a manner that is both safe and effective.
• Verify the freight to confirm the precision of the handling and distribution of commodities.
• Prioritizing cleanliness and orderliness in your work area is essential, in addition to upholding safety procedures.
• Play an active role in inventory control by conducting frequent cycle counts and proactively addressing any discrepancies discovered.
• The accomplishment of productivity goals and deadlines hinges on the willingness of team members to collaborate.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills:
• Prior knowledge of the machinery and protocol used in warehouse operations is necessary for those who want to excel in the field of logistics.
• Ability to navigate forklifts and other equipment for material handling is an important trait (instruction can be supplied).
• Adeptly handling freight with precision and meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrating a mastery of effective communication and a talent for productive teamwork.
• Being physically resilient and capable of carrying out the lifting and transfer of heavy items (maximum of 75 pounds) is mandatory.
Work Experience and/or Education:
• Individuals who have completed high school or a comparable level of education are preferred.
• It is desirable for an applicant to have previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment, although not mandatory.
Working Conditions:
