We are seeking a Mid-level Transmission Planning Engineer for multiple office locations with remote work options available. Candidates can indicate their preferred location in the application.
• *Must have USA TPE industry work experience within USA, preferably Texas** USA EXPERIENCE ONLY**
Roles and Responsibilities:
– Lead network studies for utilities and ISOs
– Interface with engineers to prepare computer-based models.
– Conduct various power system studies: feasibility, system impact, reactive compensation, stability, planning, short circuit, load flow, interconnection, and power factor correction.
– Engage in proposal writing and customer interactions to develop new opportunities.
Required Education/Experience:
– BSEE degree.
– 5+ years in transmission planning system studies.
– Must be able to lead system impact studies.
– Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
– 3+ years with PSS/E.- Project leadership and mentoring experience.
– Familiarity with the Texas ERCOT interconnection processes.
– Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Desired Education/Experience:
– MSEE or PhD.
– 5+ years with PSS/E.
– 7-10 years in transmission planning studies.
– PE registration or equivalent.
Experience with additional software:
PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, Aspen Oneliner, ETAP, Power World.
– Coding and automation skills.
