About the position
The JMP internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to engage in meaningful work within the Life Sciences division, focusing on advanced solutions in various fields such as genomics and clinical data science. Interns will gain hands-on experience in programming and machine learning, while also developing their professional skills and building connections in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
• Programming in C++ to build new machine learning interfaces for life science research.

• Testing, benchmarking, documenting, and promoting this work (written and/or video).
Requirements
• Undergraduate college student enrolled in an accredited program, not graduating prior to December 2025.

• Pursuing a Master’s or preferably a PhD in Computer Science, Biostatistics, Chemistry, Clinical Statistics, Statistical Genomics, Engineering, or other life-science-analytic focused major.

• Strong communication (both written and verbal) and coding skills.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities and initiative.

• Interest in the future of Analytics and technology.

• Ability to work with ambiguity and create specific actions from vague goals.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as XGBoost and Torch.
