SUMMARY: Performs a wide range of accounting and administrative duties to support the accounting department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES…
• Answers accounting questions from multiple customer service representatives by phone, Slack, and e-mail.
• Handles complex policy situations and strives to resolve all issues, escalates to management when needed.
• Handles complex and escalated accounting calls from insureds, agents, and other parties.
• Reviews and applies policy payments not automatically handled by the system.
• Reviews premium refunds for accuracy and generates payments.
• Receives and posts policy NSFs and chargebacks.
• Reviews and appropriately handles EFT’s requests.
• Processes functions of positive pay (check verification, voiding checks).
• Reviews and appropriately updates policy installments.
• Receives and processes all payments by mail and posts to the OSIS system.
• Backs-up for the other Accounting Associates as needed.
• Completes other miscellaneous projects as assigned by management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
• Acute attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Either two (2) years of insurance experience or two (2) years of accounting experience required or equivalent combination of insurance and accounting experience
