Job summary
Amazon Sports, currently active in over 20 countries, is seeking a senior leader to drive brand, content and product strategy, by delivering best in class market research, leading to actionable insights at scale. The Senior Insights Manager will be an essential member of the team, bringing broad analytical and market research responsibilities. This individual will design and manage robust research plans and consumer insights to answer key consumer and business questions and inform marketing, product and go-to-market approaches. They will bring prior experience developing research plans, designing studies, managing brand trackers and surveys, and deeply understanding consumers.
They will need to manage a high degree of complexity and think strategically at a global level, effectively develop key processes to derive insights and distill information, and deliver and distribute that information across multiple channels.
They will frequently author research, insights and strategy documents that clearly and persuasively distill complex data points for the Global Sports team to support brand growth, consumer engagement, and to ensure brand strategy programs and insights are representative of different geographies around the globe. The role requires a commitment to goals, proactive examination, and a relentless focus on the customer.
Key job responsibilities
Develop and execute consumer insights strategy, process and operations for Global Sports
Bring big ideas to the table, and inspire others to deliver bar-raising, best in class ideas and plans, obtaining buy-in and effectively and efficiently implementing ideas at scale through strategic programs and initiatives
Help develop the consumer insights roadmap for Amazon Sports, partnering with other insights teams to integrate 1P & 3P data & insights into a cohesive roadmap
Design and manage robust research plans and consumer insights to answer key business questions and inform marketing and product strategies/go-to-market approaches
Lead foundational brand research to inform brand strategy, communications, and growth plans
Recommend and conduct qualitative and quantitative research to enable better decision making around product and marketing
Lead and collaborate across global teams to support international expansion
Architect and imagine future measurement capabilities in light of ever-changing data landscape
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership
Experience with various types of research methodologies is key, including Quantitative, Qualitative, 1P & 3P data, trend analysis & forecasting, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Market research, analytically-driven marketing consulting, or analytical marketing background
Experience using data and metrics to drive actionable insights at scale
Exemplary project management skills, with strong ability to juggle multiple priorities and excel in a lean and demanding work environment
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field of study recommended
Excellent strategic market research experience, conducting foundational brand research, defining and prioritizing customer segments
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Executive presence specifically when presenting metrics and progress to goal to c-suite stakeholders
Relevant brand strategy marketing experience, preferably with Sports-oriented campaigns or brands
Advanced decision-making skills with proven ability to lead, influence, align and inspire teams, including those who are not direct reports
Operates with significant autonomy
Highly data-driven possessing ability to use insights to frame recommendations and results into concise and actionable reports
