Location: Remote-Texas

Duration: 12 months (Contract to Hire)

Shift: 40 Hours/week
• Candidates must have OPEN availability. Must be able to work on any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, or holidays if needed. Operates 7 days a week.
• Monday – Friday – 6 am to 7 pm CST
• Saturday – 7 am to 5 pm CST
• Sunday, 7:30 pm – 4:30 pm CST

Position Purpose:
• Supports the prior authorization request to ensure all authorization requests are addressed properly and in the contractual timeline. Aids utilization management team to document authorization requests and obtain accurate and timely documentation for services related to the member’s healthcare eligibility and access.
• Supports authorization requests for services by the insurance prior authorization list

Responsibilities:
• Supports and performs data entry to maintain and update authorization requests in the utilization management system
• Assists the utilization management team with ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on authorizations and referrals by policies and guidelines
• Contributes to the authorization review process by documenting necessary medical information such as history, diagnosis, and prognosis based on the referral to the clinical reviewer for determination
• Remains up to date on healthcare, authorization processes, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards

Job Description:
• Receive faxes, triage them, and send them out to the appropriate teams within the Client’s HealthPlan.
• Supporting the intake department to streamline the intake process.
• Candidate needs to be comfortable typing fast and inputting data throughout the day.
• Enters pertinent claims information from source documents.
• Correct entries where indicated.
• Maintains appropriate records, files, documentation, etc.
• Processing for teams including Concurrent Review, Behavioral Health, Medicare, etc. – the department is open 7 days/week because of this level of exposure to the business.

Performance expectations/metrics for this individual and their team:
• The team will process anywhere from 3,500 to 4,000 faxes per day – need to get the faxes out to other teams within 1-2 hours of receiving, depending on the form.
• 10,000 keystrokes an hour – 50 to 60 WPM, very fast-paced team.

Required Skills/Experience:
• 10,000 Keystrokes alphanumeric per hour needed = between 50 – 60 WPM. The typing test needs to be attached to the resume
• Ability to be punctual and reliable on the job.
• This is an ENTRY-LEVEL role, the team is open to new high school graduates/candidates with a retail background, as long as they can pass the typing test and have open availability.
• Retail experience may transfer from a schedule expectation standpoint, due to the team being open 7 days/week.
• Open to candidates coming from retail (familiar with the nature of open schedule) with the ability to pass the typing test & process data quickly.
• Understanding of medical terminology and insurance is preferred.

Preferred Skills/ Experience:
• 3 months to 1 year of data processing or clerical experience is preferred, but not required.

Education Requirement:
• High school diploma REQUIRED due to possibility of conversion later.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $16.00 per hour
