Job Purpose
We are looking for bilingual part-time, weekend and evening Crisis Interveners.
Chimo Helpline is a toll-free telephone and chat service which provides confidential, bilingual crisis intervention service to all residents of New Brunswick 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our caring and compassionate intervention workers provide support through active listening, problem solving, community resources and suicide intervention.
Duties and Responsibilities
路 Assist contacts to sort out options and develop action plans while providing necessary support and assistance;
路 Being a listening ear and providing emotional support;
路 Assessing for suicide, safety planning and intervention;
路 Referring contacts to appropriate services and community resources;
路 Maintaining anonymity and confidentiality of calls and location of Chimo Helpline;
路 Keeping up to date with office resource and training materials;
路 Maintain a positive office environment;
路 Work closely with the Office Coordinator to provide support for ongoing Chimo initiatives.
Qualifications
路 High school diploma
路 2 years past experience in human services roles and/or education;
路 Flexibility, adaptability and takes initiative;
路 Bilingual in French and English required;
路 Outstanding communication skills;
路 Caring, empathetic and compassionate attitude;
路 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
路 ASIST course is an asset;
路 Candidate must be willing to get a criminal background and social development check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 聳 20 per week
Schedule:
聲 4 hour shift
聲 8 hour shift
聲 Evening shift
聲 Weekends as needed
Education:
聲 Secondary School (preferred)
Language:
聲 French and English fluently? (required)
