What to Expect

TeslaÂ’s Cathode Advanced Manufacturing team is looking for an experienced Cost & Optimization Program Manager to join our team and manage all aspects of the financial planning operations for a novel battery chemical plant, beginning commercial scale production in Austin, TX. Cost & Optimization Program Manager will be part of a growing team where your impact will contribute to laying the foundation for a new chemical manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant financial evaluation and economic forecasting with a technical knowledge of chemical process manufacturing. You will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to the plant operations team, ensuring compliance with all corporate financial policies and procedures, identifying cost improvement opportunities, and providing granular visibility to the financial performance of the plant.

What You’ll Do
• Provide financial analysis, guidance, and support to steer leadership strategy decisions
• Perform quantified economic evaluations of plant expansions and improvement projects
• Manage financial reporting for the plant, including monthly and annual financial plans and forecasts
• Develop and monitor annual operating budgets and forecasts
• Analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement
• Evaluate and support policy, government, and strategic partnerships in the EV battery space
• Ensure compliance with all corporate financial policies and procedures
• Develop workflow development for managing plant inventory and fixed assets
• Work with corporate tax team to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations

What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of financial management and economic analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Willingness to relocate to Austin
