Paid Time Off:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Revenue Cycle Analytics is a key leader within the organization working with appropriate department and executive leaders to resolve organizational revenue management issues, analyze key data metrics, systematically review data findings, and make recommendations to improve revenue capture and reconciliation.

WORK SCHEDULE: This is a remote position, allowing the Director, Revenue Cycle Analytics to be based anywhere in the country.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the direction and management of revenue cycle analytics.
• Actively develops, interprets, reviews, and shares data from all phases of the revenue cycle.
• Identifies opportunities for charge capture process improvements and gross revenue optimization.
• Works with various departments and executive leaders to resolve issues.
• Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates projects to improve financial and rev cycle performance outcomes.
• Serves as change agent to promote implementation, and adoption of automation practices.
• Leads targeted initiatives and special projects to improve revenue cycle processes and financial indicators.
• Spearheads operational initiatives related to staff restructuring and streamlined vendor management.
• Partners with leadership to improve clinical and coding documentation.
• Ensures reimbursement data accurately reflects services rendered.
• Develops action plans to educate members of the team regarding billing and collection best practices.
• Ensures accountability to established metrics for data analyses, data integrity, and customer service.
• Assists in the hiring, training, and developing of billing and collections staff to meet team objectives.
• Collaboratively defines staff workflows, workload, priorities, and resource allocation.
• Promotes environment that supports and recognizes team and individual contributions.
• Creates data reports and metrics to assess all phases of the revenue cycle for early identification of opportunities for improvement.
• Works with appropriate departments to resolve high risk issues.
• Reports findings and makes recommendations to rev cycle department Vice President of Accounts Receivable.
• Systematically measures charge capture performance and meets with departments regularly to ensure appropriate and sustainable processes are in place to maximize charge capture and gross revenue.
• Oversees objective and complex data analyses using advanced data collection techniques and tools that go across multiple systems and are supported with robust quality control processes to ensure data integrity.
• Presents data to department in a way that is easy to understand and visually tells the story about the data.
• Shares advanced data reports with targeted departments and service lines that includes full interpretation of finds in order to engage all levels of the organization in revenue management and optimization.
• Monitors the financial cost as well as the financial gains of change projects both during planning, design, and implementation as well as post-implementation sustenance.
• Creates executive market reports that analyzes industry trends, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and benchmarks internal performances.
• Create ad-hoc models to evaluate specific business issues.
• Works with IT department to ensure rev cycle data needs are met and supported.
• Develops knowledge of the company’s data structure to allow for easy extraction and manipulation of data to answer various business questions.
• Creates and monitors operational analysis and trend reports as they relate to identifying process improvements to improve KPI’s.
• Participation in the monthly MOR deck covering AR SLA’s, claims follow up efforts and denial/appeal efforts.
• Develops and monitors performance standards for CBO operational departments, which include performance timings associated with specific job functions and monthly incentives.
• Analyzes and provides quality assurance oversight and guidance, using performance analytics and service level agreements (SLAs) to determine benchmarks.
• Creates dashboards and PowerPoint communications to articulate service performance and financial health of the service lines and business operations.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including Information Security Policies and ensures that AMSURG remains as secure as possible.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University (Finance, Economics, or Business Degree preferred), along with 10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare/revenue management field.
• If individual possesses an MS or MA Graduate Degree in related field of study, prior experience of 5-8 years is acceptable.
• Expertise in revenue cycle, project management, process redesign, financial analysis, problem solving, and change management.
• Proficient computer skills (including, but not limited to accounting software; Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel), Internet and email) required.

Must pass a background check and drug screen.
