We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Controller – Senior Accountant – to join our team on a part-time, remote basis. Position Summary:
As a Controller – Senior Accountant, you will oversee the financial operations, ensure accurate accounting practices, and provide insights into the companyÂ’s financial health. You will play a key role in financial reporting, budget management, tax filings, and more. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Experience in real estate accounting and working with accredited investors is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the company’s financial transactions and accounting systems.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheets.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Coordinate and prepare for tax filings, working with external auditors as needed.
• Assist in cash flow management and financial planning.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership to inform business decisions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in financial operations.
• Work with accredited investors, ensuring proper financial reporting, investment tracking, and compliance with industry regulations.
• Ensuring financial systems and processes align with real estate development operations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or controller role.
• Experience in real estate accounting and working with accredited investors is a strong plus.
• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with remote teams.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
