Summary

Are you a professional problem solver? Do you dream in dependencies, milestones, and decision-making frameworks? Is scope creep your mortal enemy? If you just nodded your head vigorously and shouted “yes!” out loud to no one in particular, we’d love to meet you. We are the Marketing department at Yelp, and we’re looking for a Program Manager to join our small but mighty Program… Management team. You’ll work side-by-side with marketers to track work across 400+ projects annually – this includes everything from creating project tickets and crafting workback timelines to running weekly status meetings. A big part of the role is acting as a “fixer” for the way projects move through org, identifying “problemtunities” in our processes and then working cross-functionally to improve everyone’s working lives. Because our working lives should be enjoyable, right?

We’d love to have you apply, even if you don’t feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we’re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes. This is a full-time remote role based in the United States.

What you’ll do:

Drive Projects:

Work across all of our Marketing functions, including Product Marketing, Lifecycle and Performance Marketing teams, as well as cross-functional partners like Product, Social, Community, and PR and Comms to drive end-to-end execution of over 400 projects.
Ticket projects in our project management tool (Wrike) and run weekly status meetings to keep all stakeholders on track and informed.
Create, optimize, and drive workback schedules, adapting based on changing conditions.
Operate autonomously to make decisions, address dependencies, anticipate risks, and ensure effective program delivery.
Partner with other horizontal Marketing teams like Creative, Marketing Operations, Video, Content, and Web Marketing to ensure they have clear roadmaps. Help facilitate prioritization conversations and tradeoff options.
Unlock challenges in the project lifecycle, escalating when appropriate, offering multiple solutions to issues, and helping people see a path forward when all seems blocked.

Drive Process:

Use your understanding of key requirements from stakeholders, as well as the nuances of project overlap and interdependency to improve processes for delivering complex initiatives.
Build trust with cross-functional partners and be a role model and driver of one of our core company values, “Play well with others.”
Proactively identify opportunities for new processes or optimizations that would help us run more efficiently and effectively, and be able to drive those changes with little to no oversight.

What it takes to succeed:

3-5 years’ experience in a program management/project management role within a Marketing team OR equivalent experience on the account management side of a creative agency, with expertise in project management and creating process.
Excellent project management skills & strong attention to detail, with the capability to manage multiple campaigns or priorities simultaneously and effortlessly context switch between projects.
Experience establishing new processes autonomously within a large organization and who doesn’t accept “this is the way we’ve always done it.”
Can-do, positive attitude with a roll-up-your-sleeves approach to getting work done.
Ability to anticipate the future during projects and/or process improvement opportunities.
A compelling need to continuously evaluate and apply key learnings from successes and mistakes. Proactively seeking out and proposing changes to enhance the business, rather than reacting to circumstances.
Effective communications skills (both written and verbal) and can motivate and hold even the most senior stakeholders accountable.
Experience with project management tools (We use Wrike, but some experience with workfront, JIRA, Airtable, Asana, etc. is a-ok).
Strong analytical skills -able to analyze and organize information quickly and at a high level in order to anticipate risks, address potential roadblocks, define the best way forward, and communicate trade-offs where appropriate.
Sense of humor and passion for bringing joy to work every day.

What you’ll get:

Effective your first day: Full medical, vision, and dental
15 days PTO (accrual begins on date of hire and increases with 2+ years of tenure thereafter), 12 paid holidays, plus one floating holiday
Up to 14 weeks of parental leave
Monthly wellness subsidy
Work from home reimbursement
Flexible spending account
401(k) retirement savings plan
Employee stock purchase plan
Compensation range for this position is $85,000 – $143,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus and benefits.
