Schedule
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Mountain Time)
Work Environment
• Remote/Work from Home options are available for residents of Idaho and Washington.
Key Responsibilities
• Assign codes for diagnoses and procedures using the appropriate classification systems for all patient classes.
• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-CM/CPT4 procedure codes following coding principles.
• Ensure that codes accurately reflect patients’ comorbidities and complications.
• Abstract data from medical records and conduct audits to verify coding and grouping accuracy.
• Collaborate with the billing department to address and correct any coding and billing claim errors.
Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or coding certification (CCS or CPC) is required.
• A minimum of one (1) year of coding experience with ICD-10 and CPT is essential.
• Knowledge of Rural Health Clinic (RHC) and Critical Access Hospital (CAH) standards, as well as state medical record requirements, is preferred.
