About the position
The Overnight Emergency Department Medical Scribe position at InScribe Health is designed for individuals with formal medical scribe training and prior experience in the Emergency Department. The role involves assisting Emergency Medicine physicians with various administrative tasks related to patient care, including documentation of medical records, managing patient flow, and ensuring timely completion of charts. This position requires a commitment to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and includes a one-week training in the Emergency Room.
Responsibilities
• Assist physicians in charting by recording accurate and complete patient history and review of systems based on patient-physician interactions.

• Record physical exams based on physician dictation and accurately transfer lab and radiology results.

• Monitor charts to ensure timely completion of medical documentation including history, physical exams, and progress notes.

• Assist in recording documentation for patient admission, transfer, or discharge plans and follow-ups.

• Communicate with hospital personnel through various means to facilitate patient care.

• Navigate electronic records to retrieve previous medical records and lab results.
,
• Administer patient surveys as requested and assist with other administrative duties as needed.

• Help train new Scribe/CIM hires as necessary.
Requirements
• Formal medical scribe training and previous experience as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department.

• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (required for Memorial Hospital of Gardena).

• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
