About the position
The Part-time Distance Learning Instructor for College and Career Readiness is responsible for providing instruction to Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Equivalency (HSE), and Adult High School (AHS) students, as well as adults seeking to improve their reading and mathematical skills. This role involves conducting student intake sessions and administering pre- and post-assessments to evaluate student progress and needs. The instructor will develop individualized instructional plans that align with the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) content standards, ensuring that each student receives tailored support to maximize their learning opportunities. In this position, the instructor will administer and evaluate placement tests to determine the appropriate study plans for individual students. They will provide instruction across various subject areas, monitor student progress, and evaluate their performance. The instructor will also offer moral support and resource referrals to help students achieve their educational goals. It is essential for the instructor to meet all deadlines and complete necessary documentation, including student attendance, grades, and reports. Additionally, the instructor will be responsible for evaluating and previewing new study materials while removing outdated resources. Recruitment, registration, and retention of students for all department programs are also key responsibilities of this role. The instructor must adhere to all policies and procedures governing the responsibilities, duties, and conduct of instructional staff, and may be assigned other duties associated with their location or base as needed.
Responsibilities
? Provide instruction to ABE/HSE/AHS students and adults improving reading and math skills.

Requirements
? Bachelor’s degree

? Current or expired teacher licensure or ability to obtain the NCCS Core Credential.
