We are seeking a dedicated Medical Administrative Assistant to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our healthcare professionals. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and patient support services using advanced virtual technologies. Roles And Responsibilities
• Evaluate medical record documentation to ensure proper billing with CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Collect, import, post, and manage insurance and patient payments.
• Monitor claim statuses and address/reinstate any rejected or denied claims.
• Review delinquent accounts and reach out to patients for collection purposes.
• Provide answers to questions regarding account balances.
• Answer inbound calls to schedule appointments for new and existing patients across all locations.
• Collect and document patient medical histories into the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Act as a liaison between healthcare providers and patients to support ongoing care, including:
• Providing pathology and laboratory results.
• Completing medical records requests.
• Processing prescription refill requests.
• Handling medication prior authorization requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to evolving requirements.

Qualifications And Education Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare-specific training is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, polite, and professional demeanor.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Empathy and a caring attitude towards patients.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and other relevant laws.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, private workspace.

Additional Notes
• This position is remote, and candidates must reside in Alabama or Iowa.
• Necessary equipment for your work-from-home environment will be provided, including a secure laptop, monitor, headset, and webcam, depending on your job function.
• This is a part-time position, offering up to 20 hours per week, with shifts scheduled in 4-hour increments during the week.
