I am seeking a highly experienced bookkeeper to help clean up, organize, and optimize the accounting and billing processes for my small business. This is a part-time position, either as a contractor or employee, depending on the candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform a detailed cleanup and review of our current QuickBooks Desktop company file
• Reconcile accounts, review historic transactions, and correct errors
• Optimize billing, invoicing, and cash flow processes for efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate directly with the business owner to establish, document, and refine detailed accounting procedures covering the full accounting cycle
• Teach and train the business owner on how to perform all bookkeeping tasks to promote understanding, self-sufficiency, and future handoff potential
• Produce clear, written documentation of all bookkeeping and accounting processes for internal reference and onboarding of future staff
• Optionally – maintain the books on an ongoing basis depending on fit and availability
Requirements:
• Extensive QuickBooks Desktop experience — must be highly proficient with Desktop editions (experience limited to QuickBooks Online or other products will not be sufficient)
• Strong understanding of small business cash flow management, AR/AP, cost tracking, financial reporting, and bookkeeping best practices
• Proven ability to teach and explain bookkeeping tasks clearly to non-accountants
• Strong documentation skills, capable of producing comprehensive written accounting procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Service-based business experience is a plus

Terms:
• Part-time, flexible hours (expected 5–10 hours/week to start)
