Hiring Agency: Health & Human Services – Agency 25 Location: Lincoln, NE Hiring Rate: $30.865 Job Posting: JR2025-00015656 Public Health Informatician I – Multiple Positions (Evergreen) (Open) Applications No Longer Accepted On (If no date is displayed, job is posted as open until closed): Job Description: In this role, you’ll work closely with our team, gaining hands-on experience while supporting system analysis, business workflows, and technical assistance. You’ll play a valuable part in writing and reporting for grant applications, as well as conducting essential informatician tasks. We’re excited to have you help with system training and lend your support to the project management team whenever needed! Positions available: Immunizations, Survey and Analytics, Electronic Health Data and Injury Informatician. Examples of Work: Conducts routine and basic informatician duties to assist in the system analysis, business workflows and specifications, technical assistance, and assist in grant application writing and reporting, and system training and assistance to the project management team as needed. Conducts business analysis of program operations and workflows and assists in the development and scope and specifications for system design. Assists in the development of workflow diagrams and documentation, works with stakeholders to assess possible points of failure or duplication, and provides documentation to mid-level or supervisor level informaticians for further review and gap analysis. Provides technical assistance to stakeholders and maintenance of public health systems and communicates regularly with stakeholders and end users on basic technical assistance. Reviews datasets and flows to help identify errors or reporting failures. Provides basic education of grant or program topics area to community members. Takes direction of grant activities and deliverables from senior Informatician and implements activities. Activities may include educational sessions with community members/coalitions, reviewing and providing basic data management and analysis, assists in the preparation of reports. Attends training sessions to increase skill sets, participates on internal and external committees and workgroups related to program area, etc. Assists in grant writing or reporting to grants- includes participating in writing grant applications and other funding proposals and data management plans. Participates in pulling data and resources together for grant applications. For regular reporting to grantors or funders, pulls basic data elements together, and drafts sections of reports. Requirements//Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor?s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 4 years of experience working in data analysis, statistics, & interpretation of data in a health subject area OR Master?s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 2 years of experience. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
