Key Responsibilities
As a Remote Criminal Defense Attorney, you will:
• Manage and oversee all phases of criminal defense proceedings, from client intake to trial
• Conduct discovery, engage in motions practice, and perform thorough legal research
• Prepare for and attend depositions, motion hearings, pre-trial sessions, and trials
• Collaborate closely with clients, providing insightful guidance and effective legal strategies
• Formulate customized case strategies to robustly advocate for clients’ rights
Required Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess:
• A Florida Bar license
• A strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to form strong client relationships
• Proficiency in managing a full caseload independently while meeting deadlines
Qualifications
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal defense, including hands-on trial experience
• Former prosecutor or public defender experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
