Key Responsibilities
• **Lead Audits and Reviews:** Oversee and execute audits, reviews, and compilations from initiation to completion.
• **Risk Assessment:** Evaluate risks to ensure compliance and accuracy across financial activities.
• **Balance Reconciliation:** Match balances with bank reconciliations, investment statements, and manage fixed asset updates.
• **Accounts Analysis:** Test and reconcile accounts receivable and payable, ensuring alignment with source documents.
• **Account Reconciliation:** Compare cash, investments, debt, revenues, and expenses against external confirmations.
• **Agreement Review:** Analyze grant and loan agreements to capture relevant details and update debt schedules.
• **Payroll Analysis:** Conduct payroll analytics, ensuring payroll reconciles with government reporting forms, and manage employee benefits and pensions.
• **Financial Statement Preparation:** Develop and modify financial statements, ensuring accuracy and that directives in footnotes are updated.

Additional Tasks
• Complete checklists and work programs, linking audit workpapers to trial balances.
• Conduct research on audit principles and provide guidance to junior staff.
• Maintain open communication with management on progress and seek support as necessary.
• Tax experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Desired Qualifications
• **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years in a public accounting firm.
• **Credentials:** CPA license or equivalent required.
• **Skills:** Strong expertise in audit, accounting, and analytical functions, with proven experience in audits, reviews, and compilations.
• **Software Familiarity:** Knowledge of financial software (e.g., Thomson Reuters) and experience with audit software such as Workpaper CS (training available).
• **Specialized Knowledge:** Familiarity with grants, contributions, and restricted funds, particularly in nonprofit and municipal sectors, including single audits.
• **Independence and Collaboration:** Ability to work independently and engage effectively with clients.
• **Communication Skills:** Excellent written and verbal skills for clear accounting communication.
• **Technology Proficiency:** Comfort in a paperless, remote environment using file exchange tools like ShareFile or Dropbox.
