Job Description:
Ottit is a full service bookkeeping firm offering cloud solutions to Shopify merchants generating $3-$25M/yr. WeÂ’re seeking a dynamic individual with strong technical acumen and a proactive mindset to join us as a Staff Accountant.
You will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, including preparing financial statements, maintaining ledger accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Staff Accountants are required to actively manage 6-9 clients at any given time.
Qualifications:
• Educational Background: CPA, ACCA, or CA finalist.
• E-Commerce: A minimum of two years of full time experience with e-commerce brands, specifically Shopify, Amazon FBA/FBM.
• Accounting Software: Expert in QuickBooks Online and Quickbooks Desktop (minimum 5 years of full-time experience).
• Professional Experience: A minimum of five years of full-time… experience in an accounting firm, demonstrating a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Audit Proficiency: At least one year of audit experience, showcasing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Work Schedule: Availability to work full-time in the Pacific Standard Time zone, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM PST.
• Preferred Experience: Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firms (KPMG, EY, PwC, Deloitte).
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and daily management of new bank feed transactions to maintain accurate records.
• Efficiently process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely handling of all financial transactions.
• Generate precise journal entries for differentiating loan principal versus interest expenses and for reconciling clearing accounts, balancing sales, and transaction fees.
• Diligent fact-checking of accounting data and financial summaries to uphold the integrity of financial reports.
• Manage inventory assets and cost of goods sold.
• GAAP-compliant closing procedures.
• Weekly audits to reconcile e-commerce activities, maintaining high standards of financial accuracy.
