The pay range is $93,800.00 – $168,800.00

As a Senior Engineer, you serve as a specialist in the engineering team that supports the product. You help develop and gain insight in the application architecture. You can distill an abstract architecture into concrete design and influence the implementation. You show expertise in applying the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems. You are an expert in programming and apply your skills in developing the product. You have the skills to design and implement the architecture on your own, but choose to influence your fellow engineers by proposing software designs, providing feedback on software designs and/or implementation. You show good problem solving skills and can help the team in triaging operational issues. You leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences.

The mission of the Stores and Supply Chain Engineering Team is to delight our guests by having our products available at the right place, right quantity and at the right time with the most reliable, fast, and secure checkout, payment and returns experience at 1870+ stores across the US. We make this happen using world class supply chain networks that comprises of 50+ warehouses and a massive fleet of transportation services that moves about $19B of inventory to our stores and fulfillment centers. We provide multiple ways of fulfilling our guests needs from our network of distribution centers and stores. We build applications and services that power 500,000+ team members in stores and distribution centers to ensure we have our products available to ultimately delight our guests. We enable team members to give the guest a great Target shopping experience on 60,000+ registers, self-checkout and mobile point of sale devices.

Key Responsibilities:
? Lead the development of scalable frontend solutions to support critical operations across Target’s supply chain, including product movement, task management, and distribution center visibility.
? Collaborate with engineers to design and implement robust frontend architectures, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
? Influence software design and implementation through feedback and best practices, driving the adoption of high-quality code standards.
? Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, focusing on preventing recurring issues through innovative solutions.
? Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and UX/UI designers, to build user-centric applications and services.
? Continuously improve code quality, reliability, and performance by using industry-leading tools and frameworks.
? Leverage frontend technologies like ReactJS, JavaScript, and TypeScript to deliver engaging and efficient user experiences.
? Support the development and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment processes to maintain high availability and performance.

About you:
? 4 year degree or equivalent experience
? 5+ years of frontend software development experience
? Proficient in frontend technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks like ReactJS.
? Some experience with backend technologies (Java, Springboot, Kotlin, etc.) and the ability to take on backend responsibilities when needed
? Comfortable collaborating and influencing with backend engineers/teams and contributing to highly performant backend APIs.
? Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target’s technology capabilities, and key competitors’ products and differentiating features
? Experience with distributed programming, microservices, and event-based architectures is a plus
? Demonstrates broad and deep expertise in multiple computer languages and frameworks (e.g., open source).
? Designs, develops, and approves end-to-end functionality of a product line, platform, or infrastructure
? Communicates and coordinates with project team, partners, and stakeholders
? Demonstrates expertise in analysis and optimization of systems capacity, performance, and operational health
? Understands and develops solutions to foster data lifecycle management
? Maintains deep technical knowledge within areas of expertise
? Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
? Experience in building highly scalable distributed systems

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
