Organization Summary
Cookie Cart provides teens 15 to 18 years old with lasting and meaningful work, life, and leadership skills through experience and training in an urban nonprofit bakery. Combining hands-on work experience, classroom work readiness training, formal customer service education, skills certification and financial literacy classes, Cookie Cart helps teens develop the foundational tools they need to be successful in education and career in North Minneapolis and Saint Paul’s East Side. Hourly Wage: $15.25 per hour
Work Schedule: Varies
? Part-Time position
? Shifts Available: Sunday – Saturday, 10AM to 12PM and 1PM to 4PM
? Must be able to work at least 3 – 4 shifts per week
? Flexibility is a plus!
Timeline of Position: 6 months – 1 year
Experience and Qualifications
? Previous Cookie Cart experience (required)
? Must be between 15 – 21 years of age
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Teamwork and Planning
o With the assistance of the Training Manager and other Training Assistants, plan and prepare daily and weekly lessons
o Follow training guides to ensure accuracy of training
o Responsible for asking and answering questions of Youth Interns
o Support with the creation of new training lessons
2. Provide job training for Interns and Cart Captains
o Demonstrate proper work readiness, customer service and leadership skills procedures and enthusiasm for financial literacy
o Delegate tasks to youth employees in our educational sessions
o Provide direct praise and feedback to youth regarding their performance
3. Role Model Appropriate Work Behavior & Expectations (Brand Ambassador)
o Report any questions, concerns or changes that you are experiencing to one of your supervisors first (Training Manager)
o Adhere to the guidelines for virtual engagement
o Have work appropriate conversations and redirect when needed
o Demonstrate ability to follow attendance and communication guidelines
4. Professional Development Opportunities
