About the Role
Fruitslice, a Queer-run publication amplifying marginalized voices, is seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer/Intern Coordinator to join our team. This volunteer position plays a vital role in recruiting, managing, and supporting volunteers and interns who are integral to our development activities and events.
We are looking for someone with project management experience, particularly with Airtable, to help us improve our workflows and organize essential information. This role also includes collaboration with our Internal Community Director to help build stronger connections and support systems for our remote team members. By fostering a positive and engaging volunteer experience, youll directly contribute to building a strong community that uplifts and celebrates Queer community.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding:
Facilitate onboarding and create training materials / systems for volunteers in specific roles, ensuring theyre well-equipped to succeed.
Volunteer Engagement & Appreciation:
Coordinate volunteer efforts during events, campaigns, and other initiatives.
Ensure volunteers feel appreciated and effectively utilized by recognizing their contributions.
Project Management & Workflow Optimization:
Use tools like Airtable to organize key workflows, track volunteer assignments, and improve team efficiency.
Work collaboratively to maintain and update essential organizational information.
Internal Community Building:
Collaborate with the Internal Community Director to strengthen connections and support systems for remote team members.
Foster engagement and provide resources to help remote workers feel supported and connected.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to connect with volunteers and interns.
Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage schedules, delegate tasks, and oversee multiple volunteers across various projects.
Commitment to Mission: Passion for uplifting the Queer community and supporting marginalized voices.
Collaborative Approach: Comfortable working with a remote, diverse team via Slack and Zoom.
Time Commitment
Flexible schedule.
Minimum commitment of 6 months.
